The New Mexico Voting Rights Act expands voting access to New Mexicans to safely and equitably cast a vote.
As we see every day now in the news, states all around the country are passing laws that undermine our most basic right to participate in our democracy. These restrictive measures disproportionately impact people of color, tribal communities, students, working families, the elderly, and people with disabilities.
In the face of these dangerous, restrictive, and anti-voter laws the GOP has passed in other states, it’s time for New Mexico to step up and show the country how democracy can bring us together—not drive us apart.
We want expanded voting access for New Mexicans, don’t you? We thought so.
